The data on the tree-data-pages and through the search and filter function on this website has been researched and compiled from multiple sources. The data collection and photography is an ongoing project and many tree-data-pages are incomplete at this time. Customers should be aware that there is always the possibility of error in the original source data, conflicting data, changing scientific opinion or incomplete data. Treadwell Tree Nursery is a small hobby farm that sells trees affordably with a low profit margin. All trees that are passed on to the customer were nurtured well from seed and are checked for good health regularly. Due to the nature of the product, I have no control over the care that follows when they leave the nursery. For this reason, I do not offer returns but will happily discuss any issues that you had or are having to mitigate future disappointment. I strongly encourage that all customers follow the planting and maintenance guide that is provided upon purchase.
Most of my trees are grown from seeds sourced personally from healthy specimens in New Brunswick and some from my native country of England. Those that cannot be sourced personally are ordered from trusted online seed retailers. Many species have the potential to cross pollinate with another similar species resulting in a hybrid offspring. Be aware that there is always a chance that hybridization could have occurred in certain seeds collected/purchased. I am always on the lookout for suspicious characteristics in my saplings.
There are some species that I cannot in good conscience grow due to their invasive tendencies. This can be especially true of some non-native species some of which have been commonly planted for decades all over New Brunswick and beyond. The few species I grow that, according to some studies, may have invasive tendencies will be sold responsibly to customers in locations with low risk of naturalization in surrounding areas.
