Amur Maple

Amur Maple

Acer Ginnala

A native, ornamental of north-east Asia that is frequently planted in New Brunswick. It is a small tree with dark-green, 3 lobed leaves. It can put on a spectacular fall show with colours of red, orange and yellow, if grown with adequate sun. Considered invasive by some reports due to prolific seed production. This tree makes a fine addition to a small garden but should never be planted near natural woodland or untended open landscapes as it will start to naturalize and outcompete some native species. All maples are ‘bleeders’ so prune in fall or late winter.
