Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple

Japanese Maple

Acer Palmatum

A native, ornamental of east Asia that is very commonly planted in New Brunswick and across North America. Available in a wide variety of different types (cultivars) that have been bred over time for specific characteristics – the attractive, lobed leaf shape and purplish-red leaf colour to name but two. Sometimes a shrub but can also be a small tree; my seeds were collected from a small tree that match the characteristics above. Grown from seed, my seedlings are of no specific cultivar and show some variation in leaf shape and colour. The tree makes an excellent addition to a small garden landscape.

Please note that I cannot guarantee the following characteristics of the eventual mature tree when grown from seed.
