Abies Balsamea
One of the most popular Christmas tree species due to its firm branches, aromatic needles and needle retention after being cut. A very hardy, common native evergreen of New Brunswick and across much of Canada. Thrives better in more northerly climates where it can attain heights up to 75 feet and with a life expectancy of 150 years. An important tree in the forestry industry used to make many building products. Provides food and shelter for local wildlife.
